For Whom The Bear Hugs?
to meeting you again.
I've known those who live to blog or blog to live.Their lives revolve around blogging. If whatever they are doing are blog-worthy, they will proceed for the sake of blogging. This is an illness I named it Bloggeritis. There is an epidemic of Bloggeritis. Before it becomes endemic, let us find the antidote. Where is this antidote? Where can I get my dose of antibloggeritis? Will my mind be forever blogged? Please ... please ... unblog my mind!
I enjoyed our outing earlier today.
It was filled with varieties of emotions --
from worries and stress
to satisfaction and relaxation.
Even Dr. Poh KK's show of emotion makes me smile!
There was humour in that Heart Centre .... hehehe
Yup ... the massage really works!
You'll get your full body massage soon, sayang ;-)
Anyway, while watching American Idol on TV, I texted you the song title of Diana Ross' Missing You and you happened to call me just as I sent the message.
Now is that a coincidence or is that telepathy at work?
Well, what ever it is ...
I'm missing you!
That was the original 1994 Diana Ross' version written by Lionel Richie.
The one shown below is Whitney Houston's version sung on 5th October 1997.
Diana Ross - Missing You
(Lionel Richie)
Since you've been away
I've been down and lonely
Since you've been away
I've been thinking of you
Trying to understand
The reason you left me
What were you going through?
I'm missing you
Tell me why the road turns
Ooh ooh
I'm missing you
Tell me why the road turns
As I look around
I see things that remind me
Just to see you smile
Made my heart fill with joy
I'll still recall
All those dreams we shared together
Where did you run to, boy?
I'm missing you
Tell me why the road turns
Ooh ooh
I'm missing you
Tell me why the road turns
Sometimes I've wondered
I didn't understand
Just where you were trying to go
Only you knew the plan
And I tried to be there
But you wouldn't let me in
But now you've gone away boy
I feel so broken hearted
I knew the day we started
That we were meant to be
If only you'd let me!
I've cried so many tears
Gotta face now all my fears
We let time slip away
I need you boy
Here today!
There was so much you gave me
To my heart
To my soul
There was so much of your dreams
That were never told
You had so much hope
For a brighter day
Why were you my flower
Plucked away
I'm missing you
Tell me why the road turns
Ooh ooh
I'm missing you
Tell me why the road turns

DHT - Listen to Your Heart.
original slow version
DHT - Listen to Your Heart
a faster version
DHT ft Edmee - Listen To Your Heart
"DHT - Listen To Your Heart"
I know there's something in the wake of your smile
I get a notion from the look in your eyes yeah
You've built a love but that love falls apart
Your little piece of heaven turns to dark
Listen to your heart
When he's calling for you
Listen to your heart
There's nothing else you can do
I don't know where you're going
And I don't know why
But listen to your heart
Before you tell him goodbye
Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile
The precious moments are all lost in the tide yeah
They're swept away and nothing is what it seems
The feeling of belonging to your dreams
Listen to your heart
When he's calling for you
Listen to your heart
There's nothing else you can do
I don't know where you're going
And I don't know why
But listen to your heart
Before.... you tell him goodbye
And there are voices that want to be heard
So much to mention but you can't find the words
The scent of magic, the beauty that's been
When love was wilder than the wind
Listen to your heart (take a listen to it)
When he's calling for you
Listen to your heart (take a listen to it)
There's nothing else you can do
I don't know where you're going
And I don't know why
But listen to your heart
Before oh... before you tell him goodbye
Listen to your heart (take a listen to it)
When he's calling for you
Listen to your heart (take a listen to it)
There's nothing else you can do
I don't know where you're going
And I don't know why
But listen to your heart
Before you tell him goodbye

I made an online purchase for two tickets for the movie Letters From Iwo Jima.
Yes .... a midnight movie on Saturday. Well ... Both of us are not working today, so we decided to watch this movie.
It seems that I have been watching foreign films these past few days -- Apocalypto, The Protégé and now Letters From Iwo Jima.
Letters from Iwo Jima tells the story of the battle for the Japanese island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese perspective. Clint Eastwood shot this movie back to back with Flag of our Fathers. Both of us did not manage to see Flag of our Fathers due to our busy schedules. (Anybody has the VCD or DVD yet?)
The film focuses on General Tadamichi Kuribayashi ( Ken Watanabe) and Private Saigo (Kazunari Ninomiya). Kuribayashi has taken the job of commanding the defense of Iwo Jima after a more well known general passed on it.
Having spent some time in the United States during more peaceful times, General Tadamichi Kuribayashi is more used to the bureaucracy of the war then to the actual fighting of it. Due to his close ties with his American friends, many of his commanders do not trust him, and end up going against his orders in crucial moments.
Private Saigo is just a soldier recently drafted to the army. He used to be a baker and has a wife and a newborn kid he has never seen. Unlike the others, Private Saigo views the General differently. You can say that each individuals may have their general and private views of any characters ... (hahaha sorry ... I can't help it.)
The movie revolves around how the General wanted to win a lost war and how the Private wanted to end the war and go back to his beloved family. It turned out that the General saved the Private in 3 occasions.
The first was when Saigo was being punished for his non-patriotic remarks while digging trenches to thwart the imminent American attack.
The second incident was when Saigo's head was about to be decapitated by his own commander for running away and not die with his unit.
The third and last occasion was when the General told Saigo to stay behind while the whole Japanese army or whatever balance left on the island go on a suicide mission against the Americans who had gained control most of Iwo Jima.
Saigo was supposed to burn all papers in the Japanese underground Headquarters. He found the letters that was written by those soldiers in Iwo Jima. These letters had not been posted out yet eversince the Americans landed on the island.
Thanks to Private Saigo's burying the sacks of letters in the cave grounds, Clint Eastwood has enough materials to direct such a wonderful Oscar nominated film.

It is still a holiday in Singapore as the year of the Pig is being celebrated here. I was not working today but my SM is busy with her work schedule.
I did not take breakfast due to a sudden lost in appetite. Having checked the TV programmes and found nothing interesting, I became bored and restless.
I took my time walking to Tampines Mall
(ooops ... Now you know the area I live in).
It was crowded.
McDonald's was swarmed by hungry Singaporeans. There goes my hope of having a bite there. There's Metro and the sale is still on! hmmmm .... I miss my SM. We could have gone shopping.
I went up to the 4th Floor. Too many students in line to buy movie tickets at the Golden Village Cinema. So I left.
I'm B.O.R.E.D!!!
I walked across to the next building, Century Square wanting to go to the Nokia Shop. Maybe my N95 has arrived. Nope.
The next stop was Century Cineplex. I realised that the crowd was not large. They are more elderly folks there than the younger generation at Tampines Mall.
I scanned the movie listing and found out that most of the movies have started and that the next show will be more than two hours from that time.
The Protégé will be shown at 3pm! In that instance, I told my seat preference "Centre, centre!" to the ticketing staff.
I laughed at myself for buying the movie ticket on impulse. Well it wasn't on impulse but out of boredom. Anyway, what better time to watch a Chinese movie but on Chinese New Year?
But what is the movie all about?
I do not know ... yet.
The Protégé is a Chinese movie starring Andy Lau, Daniel Wu, Zhang Jingchu, Anita Yuen and Louis Khoo.
It's a Chinese version of Miami Vice whereby Daniel Wu plays an undercover Anti-Narcotic Officer going after the drug lord portrayed by Andy Lau.
Nick (Daniel Wu) finds himself involved with drug trafickers and drug addicts in his pursuit of the Drug Lord. He became very close to the Drug Lord who wanted Nick to marry his sister-in-law so that they can trully be 'brothers' by law.
Nick got involved with his female neighbour (Zhang Jingchu) who was a drug addict with a pre-teen daughter who lacks funds for school. The neighbour was running away from her husband who brought her into the drug world.
This is a nice movie. It shows how Nick managed to get the trust from the Drug Lord who eventually taught and handed over his business to Nick. Once Nick owns the business, the Drug Lord was captured.
It shows how Nick hates drug traffickers and how he would rather help a dog than helping the opium traffickers.
When his neighbour died due to heroin overdose administered through the vein on her neck by her husband, Nick made the husband sign a form to release his daughter to Nick. Nick is now her godfather since he was the person who feeds her and make sure she goes to school.
But revenge was on his mind. Nick wanted the husband to pay for his crime. So he employed the husband to be his trafficker who was sent to traffic high quality drugs in a country where crime does not pay.
What country am I talking about? Hey, I'm a Singaporean and I was surprised that the husband was stupid enough to traffic drugs in clean city, fine city, SINGAPORE!
As soon as he arrived at Changi Airport, he was arrested!
Hah! That was an easy plan, wasn't it?
The ending made me laugh. Is Singapore really that bad to live in?
Speaking of laughter. A funny incident happened before the show starts.
Look at the ticket.
Yeah, I got my centre, centre seat. When I entered Cinema 4, I went to row G and sat on the centre seat. The cinema was packed and the seats beside me were vacant. I looked in front. What luck!!! There was no one seated in front of me!
When the show was about to start, a group of adults came to my row. They looked at me. A young guy approached me when his female partner kept pointing at me.
Young Guy
Excuse me. This row is for my group.
Lonely Guy
Okay. You may tell them to be seated.
Young Guy
But you are sitting on one of our seats.
Lonely Guy
Is that so? Did you get G9 too?
Young Guy
G?? Row G? This is row F! The empty seat in front is yours.
Bashful Guy
Oooops .... sorry.
Hahahaha ... what a comedy.
By the way, if you realised when looking at the ticket, I bought it at 2pm and the show was at 3pm.
I had a solid ONE HOUR to wait.
Within that hour, I walked into Metro and bought myself these --
I got myself 3 pairs of socks and 2 boxes of Levi's *ahem*
With the 20% discount, I paid only $40/-
Wanna know how I look in my new, fresh *ahem* ????

This is an old picture of Britney Spears. The I'm not a girl, not yet a woman image she portrayed was perfect.
She is now in a different stage emotionally. Has she lost her head?

The world is talking about the sudden change in her image.
For me, her songs matter most and this particular song has a sentimental effect on me.
Maybe, at this time, I am entering another emotional phase just like Britney Spears or maybe it's because I'm missing my SM.
Just enjoy this video clip.
Watch the end part as it is different!
My Sayang Manja wanted to meet me at Simei MRT Station at 9.45pm since she was at Bugis MRT Station.
She arrived hungry and we started sourcing out for food outlets. There was this new Long John Silver outlet nearby and we entered the greenhouse. It looks like a greenhouse because of the glass panels all around. There were some workmen on top of the roof installing glass panels still.
As we entered I wondered whether the outlet would close any moment.
There were three lines of hungry patrons waiting to get their food served by tired staff. We stood patiently in line while my SM discussed her day to me.
When I realised that the line has not gotten any shorter, I wondered why the staff was taking so long to serve us.
Out of nowhere this female staff approached us. Yes ... there were many others and yet she approached us!
This morning, I overheard my mom talking to my sis that she had this awful craving for oranges in the middle of the night. Being concerned, I asked my sis what type of oranges would be good for mom and she told me --
Secretly, I left the house and walked under the blazing morning sun, heading straight to the NTUC FairPrice outlet. I was not sure whether my sis was correct about Lukon oranges but the guy that was manning the stall reaffirmed me about the fact. I asked him why is it that for my case I need to get Lukan oranges but not the Swatow oranges and he simply answered that the latter is for long-lasting storage. He knew that I was buying to eat and not to keep for the Chinese Lunar New Year.
Having heard that, I bought a box of Lukan oranges for the whole family and it costs me $13.85
You know what? They are really sweeeeet!
Later in the evening, I had a wonderful time with my Sayang Manja.
We went to the Ministry of Education to get some paperwork done and headed to Holland Village.
We chilled there and waited for the rain to stop before proceeding to Queensway Shopping Centre.
We happened to pass by an optician shop and I was just curious to know about why my eyesight is deteriorating.
I told the lady that my eyesight needs to be checked as I have problem focussing and seeing things. She got hold of my spectacles and started looking through the lenses. She then called out to her male colleague and both of them started looking through the lenses.
I was surprised at such a reaction and turned to my SM.
'Hmmm ... I'm having problem seeing and they are looking at my lenses intead of checking my eyes!'
My SM signalled to them and told them that I have already passed 40 years and have been wearing progressive lenses for almost 4 years.
With that statement, they sounded relieved and explained that the reason they were checking the lenses was that they thought the spectacles was faulty.
Ahem ... they complimented on how young I look (although to me this was just a gimmick to make me want their services more).
Having had my eyes checked, it turned out that the degree for my right eye had gone down by 25 and the astigmatism level of my left eye had changed by 10degrees.
This was the cause for my not being able to focus! I was to be given high-density Hoya lenses and they can be colleted by March.
Oh yes .... the cost of the lenses replacement is $300/-
We went out on Monday evening after her cycling adventure at Pulau Ubin with her friends the day before. She complained that her body was aching and she was feeling uncomfortable -- part of her is cold and another part is warm. She was feverish.
We separated after she decided not to see the doctor and would call me when required.
At 11.30pm that night, my usual wake-up call by my Sayang Manja was not a wake-up call for work (I was to report for work that night). It was a call for me to bring her to the doctor as her situation had worsened.
I got changed and hailed a taxi to fetch her and send her to NUH.
We reached NUH at 1.04am and she was rushed for treatment due to her having a fever. If not for the fever, treatment would be given for at least another 2 - 3 hours! Now was that a blessing in diguise?
Anyway, I received her text message while I was waiting outside that she was in the Fever Facility Room under observation.
She came out by 2.14am and we had some food there so that she can take her medication. She was given three days of medical leave and her temperature should be noted. The problem then was that she does not have a thermometer to record her temperature. I kept this in mind as I wanted to give her a surprise in the morning.
After sending her home, I proceeded for work. I was 3 hours late!
I did my normal duties at work and by 9.15am, I proceeded to the Guardian Pharmacy to get my Sayang Manja a thermometer. I got her the best of the 4 types they are selling, of course!
I left for home by 9.45am and rested in the bus. Well, I tried to but these people kept talking to me and asked me questions. Two days in a row ... most of the time when I take the bus, I get someone who sits beside me and starts talking and talking and talking to me.
I wanted some rest but had to be alert lest I go off topic. I do not want to be seemed as rude. I noted the time and knew that my Sayang Manja was still in bed due to her illness.
Anyway, I got my one hour of rest at home and reread my messages and realised that I have a 1pm meeting to attend to -- a site visit at Republic Polytechnic. This will be a short visit and I made up my mind to visit my sick baby after the meeting when she would be up and awake.
I can't seem to get through her lines, the area where I was at has poor reception especially when you are in the theater.
When I managed to get through, I was told not to visit her as she needed her rest. Reluctantly, I agreed and told her to get her rest.
Like I said, the visit was short and Ahmad asked me what my plans were. He invited me to come along with him and see Ali's studio. I agreed and we spent a solid 4 hours there!
That was how my afternoon was spent, but when I reached home, I received a call from my Sayang and she was very very upset. She hung up without hearing what I had to say.
Let me clarify this, I love my Sayang Manja and cared for her. I'd sacrifice my meetings and work just to have time with her. I just do not understand in which way did I offend her?
Sorry, baby ... forgive me if I did anything wrong.
I know that you are not feeling well.
Get your rest and always take your medication on time.
I'm missing you now.

To all my muslim brothers and sisters,
I wish them a happy Eidul Adha.
I would like to specially thank my one and only Sayang Manja for coming to my aid when I was down and helpless since without her I find no joy in life.
I love her very much with all my heart!
May Allah bless her and her family.
Ameen. Ya Rabbal 'Aalameen!
It's been raining these past few days and both of us were kind of busy with our own commitments.
This is what I wrote for my Sayang Manja --
It's been raining heavily
But my heart feels heavier.
I'm missing you so badly
That it hurts so much.
Like the raindrops that filled this gloomy day,
My teardrops revealed my loneliness.
I miss you, my Sayang Manja!
