Gentarasa 2007 - Audition

The audition for Gentarasa 2007 was held at Cairnhill Community Centre on the 28 January 2007, last Sunday from 2pm to 5.30pm.




The anxious participants thronged the CC by 1.30pm staring surprisingly at the numbers of persons judging their performances. They filled up their particulars outside the hall and came into the studio by 2pm.




The participants were given a brief description of what Gentarasa 2007 was all about and what criteria we were looking for during this audition.



Ali of Anggrik Promotions, telling the participants that they were there not to perform magic tricks and showed them that he can make his palm disappear by magic. You can also see the seated judges praying hard that Ali will not do any other tricks.


These are guest judges from Anggrik Performance Arts, the sub-committe of Ci Yuan CC MAEC.

Look at the number of judges! Each one of them is looking for a particular skill for Gentarasa 2007. The participants shall be judged on these skills -- Singing, Dancing, Acting, Vocalising, Silat (Martial Arts), Stage Presence ... etc.

Who would not be nervous in front of them??? Participants were given a script to read in front of the judges. You know what? There were so many Japanese words!!! I was surprised that they can read Japanese and even sounded like Japanese!
